How do I work?

Custom & Bespoke Jewellery at Gallery 79

At Gallery 79 Jewellery Art & Design, bespoke jewellery is developed individually — from concept to fabrication — in precious metals and gemstones. Whether you are looking for a piece to celebrate a special occasion—such as a wedding, an anniversary, or a personal milestone—I am here to collaborate with you in bringing your ideas to life.

Bespoke jewellery is a considered investment. It requires time, expertise and craftsmanship that cannot be standardised. Here’s how the process works, ensuring clarity and alignment every step of the way.

Who is this for?

Gallery 79 works with people who value thoughtful design, craftsmanship and individuality.

If you are looking for:

  • a meaningful piece developed through conversation,

  • careful material selection,

  • and a process grounded in expertise rather than replication,

we may be a good fit.

I do not simply replicate existing designs by other creators. Each piece is designed specifically for the person who will wear it.

Bespoke commissions typically start from €750 for silver pieces and €1500 for gold pieces. If you’re working with (upcycled) gold, or you’re planning a more complex silver design, bespoke is usually the most suitable route. You will always receive a clear offer before production begins.

The Process

1. Introductory Conversation

Before committing, I offer a complimentary 30-minute introductory chat—online, via a call or in person.

This allows us to explore your ideas, expectations and budget range, and to determine whether the collaboration feels aligned.

Alignment in expectations is essential.

2. Booking a Design Session

If you wish to move forward, you can book a personal design session.

We meet in Ghent (area Gent Zuid (Vijfwindgatenstraat) or Gent city centre (Sint Baafsplein)), in a contemporary setting with architectural character, creative and botanical allure and, importantly, a space for focused dialogue. The exact location will be confirmed upon appointment confirmation. If preferred, the session can also take place online.

This is a working session. We explore your story, inspirations and design direction in depth. I guide you through materials, proportions and technical considerations to ensure the concept is both meaningful and structurally sound.

To reserve dedicated time and a focused setting for this process, a reservation fee of €75 is required to confirm your booking.
This fee is deducted from the final invoice should you decide to proceed with the project.

In case of cancellation less than 48 hours before the session, the fee is non-refundable (see Terms of Service).

3. Design development

Following the session:

  • You will receive a detailed offer outlining the proposal and pricing; or

  • For more complex projects, the design will be further developed before the final offer is issued.

If existing gold or gemstones are to be incorporated, they will first be assessed for suitability and gold carat value.

Indicative fees:

  • Intake assessment of old gold: €60 (10 g)

  • Elaborate design development (two design versions): €225–€450

For testing of gold and for technical proofs beyond two design versions, an advance payment is required. This amount is deducted from the final invoice if the project proceeds.

Once the design is finalised, you will receive the proposal for approval before production begins. After production has started, modifications are generally no longer possible.

4. Offer, Production & Timeline

You will receive a formal offer including pricing and estimated timelines. A decision deadline will be indicated to ensure planning clarity.

If the offer is accepted, an advance payment is required before production begins. The remaining balance is due prior to collection or shipment. Cash payments are not accepted.

Production timelines vary depending on complexity and material availability. Each piece is fabricated individually and receives the necessary time and attention.

Completion & Collection

Once your piece is complete, you will be notified for collection or secure shipment. For bespoke pieces, I recommend in-person collection to ensure proper fitting and final review.

I look forward to creating something truly special for you!
